Its been over a year since Domino's introduced Mexican Tacos. It looked pretty different in the pictures as to how we recognize a Taco.
Mexican Tacos are usually made with crispy corn shells and fillings vary from fresh veggies, falafels, cheese, sauces etc.
So the curiosity grew to try this Taco, as its presentation was different from what i have seen Tacos as.
So i place the order for this Taco and am early awaiting for it. Once we received the order, both my mother and i, as usual, start discussing about the item present. First thing we noticed was the shell. It was nothing but a lachha paratha, seasoned with spices. Further unfolding the wrap, we noticed sauces and dips smeared on the tikkis/pattis, Now we started dissecting the tikkis to find out what all goes into making this. My mother has an amazing sense of taste to find out what exactly goes into making a dish, hence we started discussing and noting the points. So after a deep discussion at home we decided to give this ''Taco'' a try. Obviously we did break our heads into making this a success and were eagerly waiting for family to try and give it a thumbs up! Rest was history...This is an awesome recipe, super delicious, flavorful, crunchy and juicy though a little time consuming, but worth a try..

Once the paratha starts to develop brown spots, simmer the stove and put two cooked patties on one half side and on the other side put 1 tsp mayonnaise and 1 tsp mustard sauce. Spread it evenly and fold it on the patties. Take it off the flame.
Sprinkle garam masala ,chaat masala and chilli flakes on top and serve hot.
Your yummy Mexican Tacos are ready
Sorry i couldn't take step by step pictures for better understanding. I will try and upload some when i recreate this again. but if you search for laccha paratha you will get detailed videos on how to make one.
A Few Tips:
- You can use half wheat and half maida for the Shell.
- You can coat the tikkis with breadcrumbs for that extra crunch.
- If you like your tikkis extra spicy you can add fresh finely chopped green chillies or jalapenos.
- You can mix both the dressing sauces and put it directly on the tikkis and cover the shell and serve hot.
